Facilities

The premises were approved for change of use to a Children’s Day Nursery in 2000, and the building was refurbished and all modifications made in relation to Building Regulation Requirements.  The former warehouse has been suitably adapted to provide a spacious and comfortable nursery.  The nursery is situated in very pleasant surroundings of open fields and quiet countryside.  We are registered for 35 children in our nursery and our activity rooms are split up to cater for each child’s individual learning stage.  Our staff to child ratios are as follows: 0 – 2 years 1: 3, 2 – 3 years 1: 4, 3+ years 1: 8.  We have a Baby Room, a Pre School Room which includes a conservatory, and a Sensory Room downstairs and all are equipped and designed to provide the very best safety and education for each individual child.  We also make use of upstairs as a preschool + room and the children aged over 3 spend their day here as well as making use of all our outdoor facilities.  The 3+ group based upstairs is an important transitional phase for the children on the cusp of entering primary school.  The main aim is to prepare the children for what is an important step in their learning journey.  All rooms play different styles of music at certain times during each day including happy and fast tunes, classical music and opera.  We have been awarded The Spread the Happiness Award from Shonette Bason Wood who is an International teacher for making learning fun and by doing lots of fun activities in a happy environment.  Each room has an I pad and the software I Connect has been installed on each one to assist staff with observations and learning journeys.

Our Rooms

All rooms are bright and spacious and all activities are conducted through the medium of both Welsh and English resulting in all children learning the basics in their second language.  The nursery will ensure the four main needs of children are met, the need for love and security, new experiences, praise and recognition and a framework of responsible behaviour.  The nursery provides children with opportunities to work in both small and large groups and by themselves.  We strive to ensure that our children feel secure and valued and that we establish and maintain positive relationships with parents

I feel Corwen Day Nursery go above and beyond in regards to health and well being. Being outdoors is a very important factor for us as a family, and at the nursery the children are encouraged to play outdoors come rain or shine! My little boy loves the outdoor area at the nursery and enjoys their walks and outdoor adventures! The meals provided by the nursery are nutritious, tasty and offer variety. Also, they offer the opportunity to cook and bake with a member of staff and I believe this encourages them to begin to understand what goes into their food and where their food comes from.

Corwen nursery has provided us as a family, an exceptional service.  As parents we have always been cared for, listened to and treated with respect no matter what. our son absolutely loves the nursery and begs to attend, which is such a comfort when you have to leave your child with someone else every day, knowing that he is happy there makes having to leave him to work, so much easier.  Whilst in attendance there, he has developed in every way personally, socially and educationally and we could not be prouder of what he has achieved here.  We look forward to our newborn starting here in the summer and have every confidence that she will have the same, all-around and exceptionally high standard of care and experiences our son has had.  Thank you Corwen day nursery for giving our children the best start in life.

Excellent nursery, my child loves it! The staff are very caring and friendly and he's settled and happy there.  Cheryl has helped my child to settle in the nursery from day one. He thoroughly enjoys it and is gaining lots of experiences.

I am really impressed with the service that Corwen Day Nursery provides. My two sons love going there. They get to socialize with their friends, take part in fun activities and the quality of food is excellent. The staff there are amazing, they are always friendly and easy to talk to. I really appreciate the lengths that they went to when settling my children into nursery as very young babies. I went back to work when both of my sons were six weeks old which was when they started going to Corwen Day Nursery. The staff were great with my babies and I, the inductions really helped to settle them in. I felt happy and at ease leaving them there knowing that they were in such great hands.
